The SKF Racing team heats up in July!
“Despite a couple of on-track incidents, we had a strong month of July,” said Burton. “We only have August before the Chase begins, so we’ll continue to put all our resources into winning races so we can hold a solid position when the Chase begins.” Kevin Harvick started his July in Daytona by avoiding several incidents on the track and capturing a 12th-place finish. Harvick continued his momentum into the next weekend’s event in Chicago by capturing a third place finish. Then unfortunately, an incident at Indianapolis left the No. 29 team with a 37th-place finish. “The month of July started out strong for us and we gained some positions in the point standings,” said Harvick. “But we had an unfortunate incident in Indianapolis that set us back a bit. We’ll look to rebound in August in order to secure a position in the top-12 for the Chase.” Clint Bowyer and the No. 07 team encountered some highs and lows during the month of the July. After capturing a solid ninth-place finish in Daytona on July 5th, Bowyer struggled with an ill-handling car in Chicago and finished a decent 22nd. Then Bowyer finished the month with a 19th-place finish in Indianapolis. “July wasn’t too bad for us, but we need to continue to build on the success of this race team,” said Bowyer. “With only six races remaining before the Chase, we’ll work hard to make sure we finish in the top-12.” Entering the month of August, Burton sits third in the NASCAR Sprint Cup Championship point standings, while Harvick holds the 13th position and Bowyer sits in the 12th position. |
